Results & Delivery
How will I receive my results?
All lab results are sent to your email address only. No physical report is mailed to you. You will receive an email from our lab partner once your results are ready. Be sure to check your spam/junk folder if you don't see the email within the expected timeframe.
How long does it take to get results?
Once the lab receives your samples, results are typically ready the same business day for samples received before 2pm EST. Samples received after 2pm EST or on weekends will be processed the next business day. Weekend rush processing is available for an additional fee — contact us by email to arrange.
Are results mailed to me physically?
No. Results are only delivered via email. Nothing is physically mailed to you after purchase. If you need a printed copy of your report, you can print the PDF attached to the results email yourself.
Shipping & Samples
Will a physical kit be shipped to me?
It depends on which kit you order:
- Mold Swab, Mold Tape, Asbestos Dust, Lead Dust Wipe, and Soot kits — Yes, a physical kit with supplies ships to your address.
- Asbestos Bulk Sampling kit — No physical kit is shipped. This is a digital product. Your prepaid FedEx/UPS label and sample submission form are sent to your email. You provide your own collection supplies (razor blade, bags, gloves).
In all cases, you ship your samples to the lab using the included prepaid label. The lab does not ship anything back to you — results come via email only.
How do I track my samples after I drop them off?
When you drop off your package at FedEx or UPS, save the tracking number provided to you at drop-off. You can use this number on the FedEx or UPS website to track your package to the lab at any time. MycoTest does not provide a separate tracking number — use the one FedEx or UPS gives you at drop-off.
What type of shipping label is included?
Orders with 1–2 samples receive a ground shipping label. Orders with 3 or more samples receive an overnight shipping label to the laboratory. This label is for shipping your samples to the lab — not for receiving anything from us.
How many samples do I need to order?
Each unit includes one sample analysis. We recommend collecting one sample per suspected area or surface. If you have multiple rooms, materials, or locations you want to test, increase the quantity at checkout. For asbestos and lead, we recommend at least two samples per material for accuracy.
Lab & Accreditation
Is the lab accredited?
Yes. All samples are analyzed by a nationally accredited third-party laboratory. The same methods and accreditation standards used by professional environmental inspectors are applied to every MycoTest sample. Your report will include the lab's accreditation information.
Can I use MycoTest kits in my state?
Yes. Our lab partner accepts samples from all 50 states. There are no geographic restrictions. Order from anywhere in the US, collect your sample, and ship it using the included prepaid label.
Support
Do you offer phone support?
We do not offer phone support. All support is handled via email at support@mycotestkit.com. Email support allows us to provide detailed, documented answers and respond to every question thoroughly. We typically respond within 1 business day.
My results are positive — what should I do next?
If your results indicate the presence of mold, asbestos, lead, or soot, we recommend consulting with a licensed environmental professional or remediation contractor in your area. Your certified lab report can be shared directly with any professional for follow-up assessment. Email us at support@mycotestkit.com if you have questions about interpreting your report.
I haven't received my results email — what do I do?
First, check your spam or junk folder — results emails sometimes get filtered. Make sure you're checking the email address used at checkout. If your samples haven't arrived at the lab yet, use the FedEx/UPS tracking number from your drop-off receipt to confirm delivery status. If the lab has received your samples and it's been more than one business day, email us at support@mycotestkit.com with your order number.
